POLYMER MODIFIED ASPHALT
AAT provides a superior solution for the production of polymer modified asphalt. Our on-site blending operations provide hot-mix contractors the flexibility to produce multiple grades of binder, including most performance grades (PG), from the same base asphalt cement (AC) source. This enables you to run jobs requiring different asphalt grades using the same base AC and one storage tank.
Works With Any HMA Plant
Our on-site blending works with any hot-mix plant and will not interfere with normal operations. AAT’s high shear blenders mix polymer with your base AC to produce high quality, consistent modified asphalt. The modified binder is then pumped into our heated and agitated storage tanks where it is ready for use. Average production rates are between 10 and 15 tons of modified binder per hour. The blender/storage combination supports up to 4,500 tons of hot mix per shift.
Point of Use Sampling and Testing
AAT’s skilled technicians perform on-site quality control tests. Samples are also sent to our AASHTO accredited laboratory for performance grade certification.
Variety of Modifiers
AAT holds the license to produce NovophaltTM in North and South America. NovophaltTM is a polyethylene modified binder with a long history of proven performance. NovophaltTM can be tailored to meet a variety of performance grades. In addition to NovophaltTM, AAT has the ability and experience to blend a variety of modifiers including SBS and crumb rubber.
