  • BENEFITS OF ON-SITE BLENDING

    Up-Front Pricing

AAT supplies the contractor with one per-ton price which includes an experienced crew to setup and operate the blending equipment, accurate and timely QC, and grade certification. There are no hidden or additional charges.

    No Additional Storage Required

The base AC (usually PG 64-22 or AC-20) in the hot mix plant storage tank is drawn into AAT’s equipment and blended with polymer to meet the desired performance grades. The modified asphalt is then stored in our own heated and agitated tanks. This process enables high speed production and minimizes batch-to-batch variability.

    Variety of Grades

Performance grades such as PG 70-22, 76-22, and even 82-22 can be produced. The base AC from the hot mix plant’s storage is always available for production of mixes with unmodified asphalt.

    Continuous Quality Control

AAT prepares a specific design to determine the percentage of modifier required. Blender operators conduct on-site quality control tests and send samples to AAT’s AASHTO accredited laboratory for performance grade certification. Our in-house, certified testing ensures fast turn-around on results.

    Technical Assistance

Experienced AAT technicians are able to set-up and run the mobile blending system without affecting normal plant operations. Technicians are always on-site to answer questions and support the contractor.
